Issue with PC Not Starting After Long Inactivity
I’m experiencing a boot issue with my PC. Whenever I attempt to power it on, whether in the morning or after a long period without use (at least an hour), it freezes on one of the four error LEDs—typically BOOT or VGA. Occasionally, after some time, it powers up and Windows loads, but without a keyboard, mouse, or internet connection. Usually, I have to restart it once or twice before it boots successfully (sometimes it even starts without any input).
Once it’s running normally, everything functions correctly. If I restart or power it off and back on immediately, everything works fine.
I’ve already reformatted the SSD, looked for problems, and everything seems fine. I reset the CMOS, updated the BIOS, disassembled and reassembled all parts, cleaned the memory, checked cables, etc. Despite this, the problem persists. I’ve run several stress tests and they all completed without issues.
What might be causing it? Power supply? Motherboard? I’m unable to pinpoint a solution anywhere.

- B450 Aorus M Gigabyte (BIOS F67b)
- Redragon 500W 80 Plus Gold
- RTX 3060
- 2x 8GB Geil 3200
- 256GB NVMe SSD
CMOS battery might be faulty, which could cause the device to forget how to start after being idle for a while. I haven't heard much about a Red Dragon PSU before; it's been a while since I saw a 500W one. The rest of your troubleshooting steps are accurate. Dealing with an unstable motherboard is challenging without having reliable components to test.
I purchased a replacement and it's still showing the same issues. I plan to acquire another PSU to check if the problem continues. It seems like there might not be enough power reaching these initial boots, though I'm not sure.
