Issue with PC failure to boot or power down following a failed memory overclocking attempt.
Hi All,
Today I finally gave it a try with overclocking, but things didn’t turn out as planned. I relied on 1usmus’ DRAM calculator to set RAM timings and voltages. After applying these settings in BIOS, my system froze onto the MOBO logo and couldn’t boot further. To resolve this, I powered down the PC by holding the power button, unplugging it, and clearing the CMOS with a clear CMOS pin jump. Once back in BIOS, I restored the previous configuration. On the next attempt, I tweaked some timings and increased the SOC voltage to 1.1V. This time, when I powered on, no video signal appeared and the MOBO logo didn’t show up. I saw a faint amber light on the MOBO, thinking it might signal another RAM problem. I decided to try again, powering off the system and re-jumping the clear CMOS pins. This attempt was different—still, the system didn’t reboot properly, and my graphics card wasn’t displaying any video output. The RAM lights up normally, and the fans are running. There’s no amber light now.
This situation became more puzzling. When I forced a shutdown by holding the power button, the PC didn’t power down at all. Instead, the power button kept flashing until I let go. It only shut off when I turned off the power supply unit or removed the wall outlet. I’ve cleaned the CMOS multiple times without success. I also reinserted the RAM and booted with just one stick.
Anyone have experience with this scenario? I’m pretty certain the CMOS clearing wasn’t the root cause, since it worked before. Could there be some hardware damage? How could I confirm that?
Thanks ahead of time!

Your setup functions properly without the RAM OC. You can simply configure the XMP profile in your BIOS to achieve the desired 3600mhz performance instead of adjusting settings manually.
