Hello,
I've just set up a new system and am facing some issues with it starting up. When attempting to boot the USB drive for installation (Windows 10), it immediately restarts after the Windows logo appears. I've also encountered a blue screen during the machine check at the install media.

I've checked RAM one stick at a time, and currently three out of four passes through memtest86 without any errors. When using a SATA drive from another PC with Windows 10 already installed, the system restarts until it displays "entering recovery mode" before freezing on that screen.

The Mobo has been updated to the latest firmware. An RMA replacement CPU was received; it shows visible scuffs on the metal cover in the sealed package, but the new one functions identically. I've turned off Secure Boot and enabled legacy/UEFI mode.

I attempted to create installation media using Rufus and the MS Media Creation Tool, but nothing is overclocked. It's possible the motherboard is faulty. I'm uncertain what else to test or adjust in the BIOS.

Details:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B660M DS3H DDR4
- RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800)
- GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3060
- Storage: WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 4.0 x4 SSD
- Power supply: Corsair RM750 750W
- Cooler: Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L Micro ATX
- Case: Corsair RM750

Maybe the Media Creation Tool image isn't working properly. Have you already attempted to generate a fresh USB image, using a different or unused flash drive?

I don't think so. The flash drive is also brand new, and it functioned properly with bootable memtest86. Memtest86 finished all 4/4 passes without any issues. Arg, it's really annoying... I wish I had a backup GPU.

Attempt to get a laptop, then try installing it on theirs; if it fails, it's likely a corrupted USB drive.

Did you discover a solution to this problem? I'm experiencing something quite alike.

The USB flash drive isn't a bootable device, so it launches the system's boot drive instead.

It turned out to be a poor motherboard choice for me. Worked perfectly after replacement.
