The network port on my Asus PK5 appears to be malfunctioning. After running a passmark test, I connected an Ethernet cable but received no response from Windows—cable is unplugged and the port lights stay off. The main PC works fine, and it did report a successful upload last year, indicating the port was functional then. Additionally, the computer fails to recognize an Xbox 360 controller, showing no plug-and-play option or listed drivers. Windows 7 includes the 360 controller driver by default, which seems unusual.

Your motherboard's LAN connection failed, so you need to purchase a PCI-based network card.

I can simply connect the drivers via USB, but it seems the issue isn’t with the drivers—it looks more like a hardware problem. I haven’t plugged an Ethernet into a port and haven’t seen any lights activate. Usually, a port lights up when a connection is detected, even without drivers installed. Maybe I need to install a PCI Ethernet card.

You can inspect the mobile for any signs of damage, though that’s roughly all there is to it. The PCI card seems like a strong option in this case.

It might not be recognized, which could explain why it isn't turning on—review the Device Manager first before using the card.

The illumination relies on physical components, not operating systems. This means it stays active even without any software or OS installed during startup. It seems the connection simply failed.
