I recently upgraded from a 3070 to a used 3080Ti for a good price, though it isn't functioning at full capacity. The card operates without artifacts, but on my two older HP Business screens using DisplayPort it doesn't connect properly with the GPU. On my main monitor, the Samsung Odyssey G5 works partially and sometimes fails to recognize the PC after it has been off for a while. Fixing this usually requires restarting the computer and disabling fast boot in the BIOS. HDMI is working perfectly, but the card lacks two HDMI ports, making my third HP monitor unusable at the moment. Additionally, it only functions when the BIOS Switch on the card is set to "Silent."

I've learned that this problem is fairly common for the 30 series "v2" cards (3060, 3080Ti, 3090Ti), which Nvidia addressed with a Firmware update Tool for DisplayID. I initially thought this update would resolve the issue and consider it a good deal, but now it's not working as expected.

I've attempted various solutions:
- Using the DisplayID firmware update tool indicates the card is already updated.
- Flashing VBios from another manufacturer (EVGA FTW3) didn't help when the switch was set to "Gaming."
- Updating both BIOS versions to 94.02.71.40.15 (both were on .13 before) didn't fix the problem, and the Gaming BIOS still doesn't work.
- Using different DisplayPort cables didn't change the outcome; the HP monitor remains unusable, and the Samsung monitor behaves as before.
- Trying different System boards or PCIe slots didn't alter the behavior.
- Reinstalling drivers via DDU consistently produced the same result.
- Updating drivers to the latest versions didn't resolve the issue.
- Changing PCs or using alternative GPUs hasn't helped, as the cheapest options are already discontinued and lack driver support.

I'm now very concerned because I haven't found a solution, and since this PC was built affordably, replacing it isn't an option. The card is covered by warranty, was shipped in an unusual MSI box, and has been opened for repair. It's unclear whether MSI would still replace the card as part of an RMA, especially since they haven't released proper VBios updates, even after I've modified its BIOS settings.

Given these circumstances, I'm contemplating using a second GPU to connect my third display, but the only available options are outdated 10-series cards that no longer receive driver support.

PC Specs are:
i7 7820x
Asus Prime X299-A
6x8gb Corsair Dominator Plat
RTX 3080Ti Suprim X
The X99 PC I've upgraded from:
i7 5930k
MSI X99S SLI Plus
4x8gb Corsair Vengeance LPX
Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
From what I'm reading in your post, it seems to me that it's either a VBIOS and/or BIOS compatibility issue.
Would MSI still replace this Card as Part of an RMA since they didn't even release proper VBios updates if I remember, even though I've already messed with this cards vBios, the card is out of warranty, and I bought it used where the previous Owner had the Card as a Replacement for an even Earlier Card?
That avenue is gone, sadly. The card has been tampered with on multiple avenues.
Or does anyone know how to fix this?
If I were you, I'd return the GPU to the seller and then reinvest in another GPU. That era of cards were heavily used for mining and given their power draw, you'd be best served in picking up a power efficient card without having to stress over troubleshooting something out of the box.
Just curious, where did you source the VBIOS for your GPU in order to flash them?
