Hi, I attempted to update the BIOS on my MSI B550 Torpedo MB using Dragon Center. It turned out to be a rather unwise decision. My PC ran for about 30 minutes without any changes and then shut down. When it restarted, the motherboard displayed an LED indicating a CPU issue. I suspected the system might have reverted to the original BIOS, which didn’t support my 5600X. I then flashed the BIOS manually via the flash button. The LED still showed no problems with the CPU or any other issues. However, when I turned on the PC, fans spun but the screen remained dark—no BIOS menu, no signal. Do you have any suggestions on what to do next?

Avoid changing the BIOS via Windows; it may cause additional issues. I’m not sure what alternatives exist. Did you connect a USB drive with the BIOS enabled during the flashing process?

Sure, I also had BIOS on USB. When I used the flash button, it seemed to work since the CPU indicator light disappeared afterward.

I experienced an issue when flashing BIOS once, caused by an incompatibility with a keyboard on an MSI board. After consulting MSI, they assured me it wouldn’t affect the process if I couldn’t recover it, and offered to reflash it for me. Fortunately, I managed to get it reflashed using a different keyboard. Given this situation, it might be worthwhile reaching out to MSI tech support if you’re unable to reflash it yourself—they could potentially handle it.
