Hi, I just upgraded my motherboard and after turning it on, the fans started spinning and lights came on. Then the ezdbug light appeared indicating an issue with my CPU. The LED lit up showing a CPU problem, and when I swapped in an older CPU I got the same message. Please advise what to do next. I’ve checked for bent pins already, but nothing seems to be wrong. I also tried reseating it, but it didn’t help. However, the CPU is heating up, which seems like a positive sign. What should I do now?

Ryzen versus Intel? If Ryzen restored your trusted CPU and refreshed the BIOS, give it another shot. I’m unsure if the system can update the BIOS without a working CPU. If so, that would be another possibility. The details of this process and the machine’s current and updated specs are probably important. Edited August 31, 2022 by Bombastinator

I thought so. For Ryzen components, just because the motherboard is recent doesn’t guarantee the latest BIOS. I still need the specifications. I’m not sure what this device actually is. I only know there’s a mortar titanium chip—it might be a B450 or B360. Neither model is definitively new, though the component itself is. Edited September 1, 2022 by Bombastinator

In short, I used a 3200g and an A320m, upgraded to the B450 with titanium and the 5500. I tried resetting the CMOS and swapping the 3200g into the B450, but it didn’t work.

You're using a B450m 5500 gtx 970 980 evo nvme with a 450W CPU cooler and a 450W GPU.

You might have an outdated bio file for this unit. The board does support a CPU BIOS reflash system. Do you have a USB key? The B450 mortar could be quite old, possibly having a 5-year-old bio. It’s also possible the hardware is simply faulty—if a new bio doesn’t fix it, you may need to return the part.
