Issue with mouse input during gameplay
Issue with mouse input during gameplay
I’ve experienced this unusual problem since setting up my initial PC a few months back.
When playing titles such as Paladins, Valorant and Kovaak 2.0, I rapidly click left or right while dragging my cursor across the screen’s left edge in a quick motion, my character continuously firing or aiming until I press the mouse again. It’s strange that this behavior doesn’t occur when I move the cursor to the right side of the screen. Additionally, the issue isn’t present during Overwatch play or on my Windows desktop. It only appears in certain games.
I’ve attempted the following steps:
- Performed all available Windows updates
- Ensured BIOS and chipset drivers are current (and updated relevant ones)
- Tested with a different mouse to rule out peripheral issues (my main model is Glorious Model O)
- Updated the mouse driver using the software provided by the mouse manufacturer
- Tested with another USB port
- Reinstalled the mouse driver and restarted the computer
- Ran Windows Troubleshooter
- Executed a Clean Boot, still encountering the problem in-game
- Executed sfc /scannow via command prompt, no issues detected
- Turned off Clicklock in Mouse properties
- Disabled the pointer hiding feature while typing in Mouse settings (possibly a suggestion from other forums)
- Saved all data, including game files, onto a single SSD
Despite trying everything, I’m still unable to resolve the issue. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
