Recently, when left alone, my mouse and keyboard will turn on and then restart once contact is made. If left untouched for too long, they stop working and I need to restart the computer to use them again. I've tried updating the drivers but it didn't help. It seems this issue isn't present on other computers, so there might be a problem with this particular machine.

Update your post with complete hardware details and operating system information. Provide the power supply specifications, including make, model, wattage, age, and condition (original, build, refurbished, used). List all connected peripherals. Specify whether the network is wired or wireless. Mention the exact model and make of the mouse and keyboard. Check Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for any error codes, warnings, or events related to the device behavior. Additional context would be helpful.

As Ralston18 mentioned earlier, there are certain components in the BIOS Setup labeled "wake on ..." that manage whether specific devices (such as the keyboard or mouse) trigger system responses and cause the machine to awaken. Incorrect configuration can prevent any sleeping device from activating and instead result in a "NO action" response. With more information, we might find guidance in your motherboard manual for precise details.

We require the information Ralston18 asked for. As mentioned, your problem could relate to certain BIOS settings, or it might stem from the shutdown options set in Windows configuration.
