Hello everyone, I'm experiencing some unusual issues with my Asrock 970Pro3 setup. It's paired with a Phenom II x2 555BE unlocked to an Asrock B55, running on 24GB RAM in a Proxmox lab. The main problems are: the UEFI doesn't save CPU settings like frequency or voltage, even after changing them manually. The CMOS battery was replaced without success, and I've tried setting it again. When I rebooted, everything returned to the default configuration. I also attempted to re-flash the UEFI with the same or older version, but it still didn't work. There are odd behaviors when clearing CMOS—sometimes it doesn't reset properly. On the RAM side, I noticed inconsistent results: sometimes only one slot is recognized, even though all slots are populated. The boot guard on the unlocked CPU reports failure three times, resetting the UEFI settings back to defaults. This happens occasionally even with a stock CPU. I haven't tested another CPU yet, but the setup has been stable for about three to four years without issues. Someone could help me figure this out. Thanks in advance!

It depends entirely on the motherboard itself. What you've described suggests it's showing signs of wear. Core unlocking issues often stem from aging or insufficient testing, as seen with the 565BE which once handled full quad-core performance but eventually lost a core. Memory slots are another concern—the board is likely nearing the end of its lifespan. Upgrading might be the best option now.
