Issue with minimal frame rate on the latest 3070.
I recently purchased a brand new Gigabyte Eagle 3070 to use with my card-less setup (Ryzen 5 3400g, 32GB DDR4 2666MHz with XMP, 1TB NVMe M.2) for playing demanding games. After trying Fortnite, I noticed my FPS were much higher than expected. Running everything at low settings, I achieved over 100fps in 1080p, which seems unusual given the game's demands. Using GPU-Z revealed the card was reporting X8.3 instead of the advertised X16.3. Despite having an X16 slot connected, only half of it was utilized, possibly due to the motherboard (B450M DS3H V2) handling the remaining slots as X16. Benchmarks online showed differences around 2% between X4, X8, and X16 configurations. I've already tried several fixes: reinstalling Windows 10, cleaning the installation with DDU, downloading older drivers, adjusting power settings, monitoring temperatures, updating BIOS, tweaking BIOS options, and testing XMP. My goal is to verify the card's performance on another system with a newer CPU to see if more results are possible. If anyone has suggestions or ideas, I'd appreciate it. I invested a significant amount for a PC that isn't delivering its potential.
The 3400g is restricted to Gen 3. NVME shouldn't prevent the card from reaching x8; it needs four extra lanes. Do you have any other PCIe cards? Otherwise, a BIOS adjustment might restore x16 support?
Running the test now, I'll refresh in a few minutes.
EDIT: Verified it works, same version again, still X8 Gen 3.
