Hello everyone!
I recently switched from an asus tuf 3080 to a powercolor red devil 7900xtx and noticed a memory leak in windows.
My system has 32gb of Neo Forza PC4-25600 (ddr4-3200) with NMGD480E82-3200 - Black (4x8).
I own the 7900xtx, an i9 9900k, a gigabyte z390 UD motherboard, five SSDs including one internal nvme drive, a gamda’s chione m240r aio liquid cooler, four extra aeolus fans, a lian li streamer plus v2 controller with both the mobo and 3x8 pin connectors, and a gigabyte 750w psu.
At startup, I’m using roughly 30-35% of memory at idle.
After about 24 hours it jumps to 50-60%, then 70-80% after 48 hours.
Resource hogs (per task manager and resmon) are chrome and the steam web helper service each using 1-2gb. Closing them frees up around 10%, but there’s still a leak somewhere not being tracked.
I recently did a Windows repair install, but it didn’t fix the problem.
I observed this just a few days after replacing the video card from the 3080 to the 7900xtx, and it has been ongoing since. Could AMD adrenalin be the cause?
