Issue with MEDION MSI MS-7522 X58 Platinum BIOS
Hello everyone! I'm reaching out for advice since I think there are many knowledgeable individuals here who might have the solution. My issue is with my Medion MS-7522 X58 Platinum motherboard. As you know, some manufacturers restrict users from modifying their products, so I only have a partial BIOS setup. I was hoping to upgrade it, as a friend suggested that the Xeon X5675 should work with this board after a BIOS update. I recently purchased the Xeon X5675 just to test whether Medion allows such changes on boards they sell. Now I'm facing an unusable CPU and don’t have the funds to replace the motherboard, which I never planned to alter. Do you have any options for updating the BIOS without an M-Flash tool, or am I stuck with this situation?
The MS-7522 motherboard was crafted by MSI. Examine your computer closely and check the motherboard details—does it feature a Platinum or Platinum SLI? There are BIOS updates available for this board that contain revised micro codes. These updates accommodate 6-core 990X processors. Both the 990X and Xeon models share the identical CPUID, 206C2. Upgrading your BIOS could enable the X5675 CPU to function with this motherboard. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/...upport-cpu
