I've been attempting to reset my Mac's settings, but when I try to partition the hard drive, it shows that journaling isn't active. I need to enable it through a file setting.

Choose the desired format during installation of the disk utility.

The boot drive is ready. Formatting the system drive isn't possible while the computer is running. Obtain a macOS install USB and format the drive afterward.
