In vanilla 1.18.2 my frame rate is between 60 and 120, yet movement causes it to drop to around 40. Despite having an RTX 3060 and an i5 10400f, it shouldn't be that low. In OptiFine I see around 200, but when I move or destroy objects it falls to 90-110. Also, in OptiFine my GPU clock is about 2200 with usage around 40-50, whereas in vanilla it's about 500 with usage 20-30. Render distance is 20, simulation 5, no shaders. My system performs well in other games like Valorant (200-250 fps). Vsync off, dual channel on. GPU temperatures while gaming are 50-65°C idle and 30-40°C CPU, never exceeding 70°C. I've increased RAM, reinstalled Java and Minecraft. Debug screen shows Vanilla link, OptiFine link, and specs are listed. I also have a 144Hz monitor, but I'm unsure if it helps. Task manager doesn't show Minecraft or the launcher, only this link: https://imgur.com/a/SxTHIqX. View: https://imgur.com/a/SxTHIqX
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! If I were you, I'd pick a PSU with at least 650W for the whole system. Based on what Steve shared on Gamers Nexus, I wouldn't rely on any of Gigabyte's budget PSUs. How long has the Gigabyte model been around? You didn't mention the motherboard's make and model, nor its BIOS version.
Yeah, that's a pretty frightening PSU. This is a far bigger problem than poor Minecraft performance.
The PSU is quite old, around four months, and the MOBO is a Gigabyte B560M DS3H. I'm not sure how to check the BIOS, but it shouldn't be that old since I bought this PC four months ago.
