I'm trying to connect the microphone of my Logitech C922 Pro Stream Webcam to the microphone search feature on YouTube using my desktop PC. I've verified the Windows 10 Home microphone settings in both Sounds and Privacy, confirmed that Brave has access, and checked for relevant videos, but it still doesn't work. Could you check if I missed anything or did something wrong? Also, is there a possibility my webcam's microphone isn't compatible with YouTube? Thank you in advance.

Did you explore different web browsers to check if the webcam functions there?

I used it in both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, but the webcam microphone remained undetected by YouTube.

Is this a personal setup or part of a workplace system? Has it functioned previously? Does it integrate with other applications?

It is a personal computer. I have only tried setting up YouTube voice search to work with my microphone today. My mic and voice are still detected in Windows 10 sound settings, Skype, and Zoom. Those are the only areas where I currently use my microphone for voice input, but as stated earlier I would like to use voice search with YouTube.

I used the same webcam for the first time by turning the device on in Firefox. This shows YouTube works.
Possible issue might be related to browser settings.
Are there any extensions or plugins installed in your browsers? Do they share similarities?

For convenience, I rely on NordVPN when accessing the internet.

I simply turned on the device, and everything functioned perfectly. Did you check your browser's microphone or audio preferences for any indications?

I verified the camera and microphone configurations in my Brave Web browser. No issues were found there. I tried using a family member's dedicated PC microphone to check if the problem was resolved, but YouTube voice search remained unavailable even with logged-in accounts on both Brave and Chrome browsers. I restored the default microphone settings to my Logitech C922 webcam on all browsers—Windows 10 Sound, Skype, and Zoom—and confirmed it worked properly. The C922 mic also functioned correctly in my mobile versions of Android apps. It seems the issue might be related to hardware compatibility or an older PC system. My desktop is about seven years old, so I’m concerned it could affect using YouTube voice search until I upgrade. I’m looking for any advice that could help fix this.
