Issue with Lenovo Legion 5 Pro running in FTPM mode
I have been experiencing weird "stutters" when using my laptop. They only happen when the fTMP (AMD secure something something) is enable in the UEFI. When I disable it, those stutters disappear and everything works as expected. I am on the latest bios as provided my Lenovo. There is no log in the system events. Recently I was thinking about upgrading W10 to W11 but TMP is required to allow that upgrade. I searched the web for solution but I can't find one that both works and isn't just "turn off fTMP". There isn't much to configure in the bios. AMD says they have fixed the issue and you should just update bios but that didn't help me. Now I am debating how much of a trade of would it be to install W11 and turn it off again. I know the security and login will be messed up for a bit but would I be missing something? Ideally I am looking for a solution that would allow me to keep it turned on but I understand I am probably asking for miracle. My laptop: Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H
I've experienced the issue with my model 15ACH6H. When is the stutter most apparent? I've only felt it during video playback on YouTube, not in gameplay. My laptop is set to "discrete" mode, which turns off the iGPU. I've heard it might not occur in hybrid mode, but that doesn't help since it's already problematic otherwise. It seems more frequent when the laptop is in "quiet" mode, and less during regular use. Some games now need TPM, though I don't play any of them yet. It feels inevitable that disabling it will become necessary soon. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any effective workarounds I know of.
