Hi! Your UDM seems to experience LAN port freezes intermittently. All wired devices—NAS, PC, Mac—can't communicate or reach the internet except WiFi-enabled ones. Only WiFi-connected gadgets stay online. Ubiquity has been unresponsive for months; they suggested overheating as the issue but it persists even with close proximity to an AC unit and a non-functional fan. They now ask you to disconnect everything except the NAS, which is problematic since your PC relies on wired Ethernet and your Mac works fine on WiFi, especially for video tasks. You're looking for troubleshooting steps or alternatives like upgrading to UDM-Pro with an access point or switching brands. Your Home Assistant depends on Ubiquity integration for presence detection—any advice would be appreciated.

Checking if the fan or cooling sensor is malfunctioning or damaged could explain the issue. It might be overheating but not registering the temperature rise. Try introducing air manually to see if it resolves the problem. No need for aesthetics—just a diagnostic test.

It consistently operates near 80°C even with the surrounding air at about 25°C. The fan functions audibly, and checking the temperature settings confirms the sensor is operational.

If it functions, it functions.

Do you have the newest firmware and UniFi updates? Also, attempt a factory reset and start fresh.

I’ve got the newest firmware installed. After a factory reset, nothing changed. Spent two hours configuring everything from scratch just to face issues after four days. I’m planning to sell it now—maybe someone else will find a different way to use it that avoids the problem. I ordered UDM-SE with an AP, hoping this will give me a smoother experience.
