Issue with lag in GTA V gameplay

At first launching GTA V was fine. I could play without the highest settings but also avoided the lowest. Now it often lags and crashes. I've set everything to the minimum possible, lowered the resolution from 1080p, reinstalled drivers, and updated everything, yet performance remains poor. I'm puzzled about the sudden slowdown. Your PC specs are listed, so let's troubleshoot together.

It's GTA. My friend has the 7950 at stock speed, and he can enjoy the game at Very High/High with solid FPS. He has an i5, which really aids in this title. However, after the latest GTA update, many players are facing similar challenges.

Consider trying it on your SSD first to check if it helps. The large file sizes might strain the drive's performance, so you could wait for a future update if needed.

Hey General Sock, I’d look into the load of your components during gameplay and check if any reach 100% to cause bottlenecks. Try launching the game with nothing else running and see if performance improves. Also, monitor the temperatures of your parts to rule out overheating.
