Hey everyone! I wanted to share my experience trying to remove Office installation traces from Windows. Yesterday I decided to try Office 2016 again. I uninstalled the version I had before and downloaded the offline installer for x86. The setup began, but I discovered an x64 version online, so I tried to stop it using Task Manager. I attempted to uninstall with extra tools like IObit Uninstaller, but the process didn’t work. Eventually, I removed all Office-related keys from the registry, yet the installer kept failing. Now I’m stuck between x86 and x64, neither installing properly. Thanks for your help!

Office 2016 is available only for Mac systems... It seems to not function properly there.

It's not about that. It's a tech preview for Windows. OP - https://support.office.com/en-us/article...n-US&ad=US

Office 2016 is pretty new compared to the versions I used—like Office 2007, 2003, or even ECDL. It’s odd how quickly things change!

It's even more of an issue since it's still in the pre-release stage.

Thanks. It's functioning now. I just went through the instructions at the link you shared: https://support.office.com/en-us/article...n-US&ad=US. So far, no issues. @soup I also discovered ECDL in Office 2003. Then we had to relearn everything again when it came out in 2007. @JefferyD90 From what I understand, the beta version was released for PC first than for Mac.

We're using it, though it hasn't been utilized much lately.
