This laptop ran Windows 10 with an Intel Core i5 from the Sandy Bridge era. I wanted to gift it to a friend using Linux after wiping it clean. I tried installing Linux Mint first, which worked until the system refused to boot and then switched to Ubuntu. Each time I restarted, the boot drive wasn’t detected. From the BIOS you mentioned, it doesn’t appear to be a UEFI setup. What might be missing?

Attempt to execute boot repair using the live USB at https://phoenixnap.com/kb/grub-rescue#ftoc-heading-5. Alternatively, follow the steps for resetting GRUB.

Open BeeOS and verify the SATA device mode is AHCI. If it’s RAID, change it to AHCI and reinstall the Linux distribution.

Noted the EUI configurations were in an area I hadn't verified. Everything looks fine now. Appreciate the help.
