Issue with G.Skill Trident Z RGB? It may not be functioning properly.
Before switching to my Ryzen 5 3600, I purchased a 32GB Trident Z RAM kit. At the time, I used a Gigabyte Aorus z370 motherboard, and the RGB lighting worked perfectly with RGB Fusion. After upgrading to my MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi board with the Ryzen, the RGB remains stuck on Rainbow Wave and isn’t recognized by MSI Mystic Light. It also doesn’t appear in Corsair software that manages my AIO, though I’m not sure if this is unusual. I also attempted to use the G.Skill app, but no settings changes were possible. CPU-Z shows the RAM is detected normally. I read somewhere that RGB software conflicts can cause issues, so I tried uninstalling one and switching to another without success. I even swapped the RAM sticks around. Through some research, it seems the problem might be with the RAM’s SPD (polarity settings). I downloaded Tiaphoon Burner, but my CRC code looks fine. It appears my MSI board doesn’t support an SPD write function—searching everywhere confirmed this. The good news is, if the SPD is indeed bad, here’s a simple guide to help you fix it:
