Issue with GPU R9 270x freezing
Hi, I own a solid CPU, an Intel i5 5675C, 16GB DDR3 RAM, a 2TB HDD, a 500W 80 Plus Bronze power supply, Sapphire Rapid Pro 2GB, R9 270X graphics card, and Windows 10 Pro. I’ve re-applied thermal paste to both the CPU and GPU. The machine is about eight years old, built in 2013, and the PSU was replaced in 2018. After playing Sam 4 at 1080p medium for a while, it crashed after two days. I cleaned out all the dust, removed the AMD GPU drivers, but now installing the latest AMD drivers or even older ones causes freezing with a black screen and stuck number lock when reaching 74% during installation. The same happens via Device Manager. When Windows boots with the GPU, the normal start-up freezes into a black screen, even the number lock freezes, but I can enter safe mode. Could you check if the GPU is failing? Edit: I also tried moving the GPU to a different PCIe slot, but the issue persists. Also, my old Nvidia 9600GT works fine.
