It's interesting to see how performance changes with your new R9 290. Comparing it to the 7990, you noticed smoother gameplay at 60 FPS with Ultra Settings in 1080p. However, when intense action scenes occur—like explosions—it drops to around 40-50 FPS. This is common when switching from a dual-GPU configuration to a single GPU. Many players experience similar fluctuations depending on the load and settings. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

Dips are typical regardless of whether Xfire/SLI is used.

It's essentially two 7970s with a 290 added, so it's likely the 7990 will do better.

The 7990 performed well with BF4, and I'm satisfied with the R9 290—it'll take some getting used to the dips, but they occur infrequently.

I wanted to confirm our agreement on achieving more uniform results using the R9 290 alongside the 7990.
