Hello, this is my initial forum visit asking questions. As mentioned in the title, I own a Geforce RTX 3060 AMD Ryzen 7 4800H laptop. I’m not particularly knowledgeable about CPUs and GPUs—I’m just a college student who got a small budget for a gaming machine. I consulted my friends about the specifications because I mainly play Valorant and don’t require a high-end setup; I just need something that delivers solid FPS in that game. That’s why I ended up with a ROG Strix laptop equipped with those specs.

I’ve been using this laptop for around two and a half years now. With the low settings, I’ve consistently managed 80 FPS on Valorant, sometimes reaching up to 120, though never more than that. I’ve tried all the basic fixes—updating drivers, cleaning background processes—but my FPS hasn’t improved.

I even visited an FPS calculator site to verify my numbers. The results confirmed what I already suspected: my performance is still quite low. If you’re thinking about me cleaning dust inside my laptop, well, that’s not a priority right now. My FPS was that poor when I first got it, so there’s no chance cleaning will make a big difference.

I also considered asking for advice on cleaning the internal components, but honestly, I’m not sure if that would help much. My current setup is fine for school, and I’m just starting to explore other games where FPS matters even more. I really need some guidance here.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Avoid performance/power/wattage calculators—they don’t deliver accurate results. Please send over your Asus ROG Strix laptop model and SKU. Next, confirm the BIOS version you’re using. Did you reinstall the operating system during your ownership? Where are you obtaining the game installers? And by the way, could you list the game titles you’re interested in?

Wow, it really surprised me how quickly you replied! I’m really sorry for the confusion, but I don’t get what you just said. Would you like a guide on how to handle that?
