Hello, I’m experiencing some problems that aren’t consistent. It mostly happens in 2019 cold war; the monitor either shuts off or shows black. I thought it might be an HDMI cable issue, but after minimizing the game before it starts and using alt+tab, the on/idle light started flickering. Once I fixed it, it worked again. If this was from my graphics card, it would affect other games too. Also, I recently used a cheap 5$ Pwn controller, which might be the culprit. Is there a damaged component involved? Does it matter since my PC runs normally otherwise? Could dynamic refresh be the problem? (Note: I can only upgrade to new 1150 boards with two RAM slots, so I’ll get those then add two 16GB DDR3 RAM units. I currently have four 8GB drives for photos and videos.) After a second, it returns to normal, but sometimes it doesn’t. Try disabling dynamic refresh to see if it helps. What part controls this issue? The Pwn header seems damaged, but the rest of my PC is fine.

It's a semiconductor used for voltage regulation, which seems to be the root of the issue. The PCI lanes are spiking in volts, leading to problems in your game. If you have some soldering skills—even basic ones—it’s not too difficult to fix. But it could happen again because you don’t know what’s causing it. I suggest avoiding using your PC and replacing the whole board before a "knock-on" effect occurs. This might damage other components.

I’m expecting a Z97 P Asus to arrive soon, hoping it resolves the issue. I’m okay with the trade-offs, but it seems the 5$ power supply might have damaged your 6TB HDD.
