You’ve got the FX 8350 installed, but it’s not booting properly—only a black screen appears. The PC is on and fans are running, yet nothing displays. After trying the Phenom II X6 1090T, you switched back to the FX 8350 and it worked. What should you do next?

I don't have access to your specific hardware details. Could you clarify which motherboard you're referring to?

I don’t have enough spare hardware to verify the board and CPU. In this situation, @Moonzy’s approach is the most viable option you have at the moment. Use the phenom, retrieve the latest BIOS, flash it, restart, then change the CPU and start with a single RAM module. Progress gradually. If your board includes a debug LED or similar feature, it could help pinpoint the issue further, but updating the BIOS should be your initial step.

AM3 isn't compatible with the FX 8350, but AM3+ is.

This board uses the AM3+ socket, meaning a BIOS upgrade would be necessary for proper operation.

The R2.0 update includes the normal board with FX support, while the standard version lacks it.

Yes, the CPU must be BIOS Version 1006 or higher and validated, while the PCB needs validation since BIOS Note FX-8350 (FD8350FRW8KHK, 4.0GHz, 8C, 125W, rev.C0, AM3+) with version 1006.

Maybe it's the motherboard itself that's causing the issue.
