Hello everyone, I'm facing a frustrating computer problem: my Task Manager always displays my SSD at full capacity, which causes my PC to lag heavily during normal activities. I've already tried a basic restart, but the issue continues. Have others encountered this situation? Could outdated firmware, background processes, or even a drive malfunction be contributing factors? Any advice, diagnostic steps, or fixes would be really helpful!

Open Task Manager to check which processes are accessing the disk. Investigate the numerous drive letters—this may indicate configuration issues. Use the manufacturer’s diagnostic tool if available. Execute CrystalDiskInfo, capture the output, and share it here for analysis.

I'm preparing a backup of all crucial data just in case things go wrong. I'm also planning to create an image of the drive, securely erase it, and then restore the image. I've encountered several times where the drive fails to read unchanged files like OS components over time, but clearing the issue helped for a while.

I currently have two HDDs and one SSD. My Linux OS is configured for dual-booting with Windows. Here is the CrystalDiskInfo image of the SSD.

Sure, I can help with that. You might want to consider tools like CrystalDiskInfo or CrystalDiskMonitor for detailed drive imaging.

I start with a flash drive containing a portable Linux distribution and run ddrescue to protect the data.

Read and write activity is unusually high for this drive's capacity. It's time to upgrade the IMO.
