I live in a rental property, so I don't need to make changes like drilling into the walls that would be necessary when moving again. Still, what impact would that have?

When you lengthen the cable using extensions and surge protectors, it raises the resistance in the circuit, leading to more voltage drop—some drop is normal. If the drop becomes excessive, it may lead to issues such as screen flickering. That's why I inquired whether it's feasible to run the monitor directly from a wall outlet. If that isn't an option, then the situation remains unchanged and the possibility still exists.

Sorry, I didn't grasp your point. Unfortunately, it remains unfeasible. I can't even attempt it since I require a minimum of two sockets for the PSU and monitor. The nearest option I use only has one, so I'm forced to rely on an extension.
