I've attempted various registry adjustments, prompting the indexing service to rebuild and restarting several times. The only action I haven't taken is a complete reinstall, which I'm hesitant to do. I tried launching the service manually through Services.msc, but it consistently returns a Code 1053 error. UPDATE: I resolved it with multiple restarts and removing an unusual patch I installed when the service failed. I really dislike Windows.
