I’m having trouble getting the Ethernet port functional on my ASUS Q170M-C motherboard. I’ve reinstalled Windows 10 Home 64-bit and tried a few fixes: using a USB WiFi adapter for Windows Update, downloading the latest LAN driver from the ASUS site, installing the Intel Wired driver, and flashing the BIOS. The Ethernet cable itself seems to work when plugged into a network switch. I’ve also used different cables from another switch. My hardware setup includes an Intel i5-6500 CPU, Corsair CX500M PSU, 8GB RAM module (needs dual-channel), and a Lexar SSD with a SanDisk SSD Sapphire Radeon R7 265 GPU. I’m looking for any advice or tips to help me resolve this without getting stuck in troubleshooting. Thanks!

I attempted that and will revise the post. The Ethernet cable I'm using has been verified to function (checked on a different tower). Additionally, I've tested the same cable while typing on another tower. Thanks!

Occasionally, ports can fail. I’d just pick an affordable NIC from Amazon or eBay and keep going.

I forgot about this answer, sorry. I ended up choosing a PCIe Gigabit Ethernet card. Anyone have similar stories? Appreciate the feedback!
