Issue with Ethernet performance on your PC is unusual.
Hello everyone, I’m facing a puzzling issue that no one seems to understand. The only solution was reinstalling Windows, but the problem reappeared shortly after. On Speedtest.net, my speed dropped from 500Mbps to just over 200Mbps. This isn’t related to my ISP, as I’ve worked in this company before and the settings are correct. Other tests show speeds up to 515Mbps, which is higher than what’s contracted. I noticed similar slowdowns when downloading Nvidia drivers or Origin games—after installation, download speeds were over 50MB/s, but now they’re around 15MB/s. On my phone, Wi-Fi works fine but results in 400–500Mbps; Speedtest.net shows the same numbers as on my PC. In short, something is limiting my speed to under 200Mbps, except for certain sites and services. After reinstalling Windows, it helped, but the issue returned. I’m unsure what’s causing this and need your assistance. Thank you.
It's challenging to pinpoint the problem because it affects only certain sites and apps. It seems like a routing concern. Which websites are causing the trouble? Would you like to check the number of hops using tracert and know which DNS service you're using?
The issue has been resolved. I’ll explain the cause. I believe the problem stems from Windows 10 QoS packages. After searching for two months, I found a solution online that worked perfectly on the Polish forum. This seems to be the only answer available there. The fix involves navigating to gpedit.msc, selecting "Windows settings," then choosing "Policy based QoS" and adjusting the advanced settings. Make sure the option “Specify the level of TCP receiving rate” is unchecked and set to level 3. Applying this should improve speeds, as confirmed by the tests showing 500Mbps and downloads over 50MB/s.
