I am a PS fan using a real Dualshock 3 on my Win11 PC with the DsHidMini app. While playing Super Meat Boy, I noticed that the Cross button functions like the B key and the Circle button acts as the A key. Usually, the game uses these buttons for different actions, but on my DS3, the Circle button is used for jumping. What might be causing this issue?

There are two distinct controller APIs in Windows: DirectInput and XInput. PlayStation controllers follow DirectInput, whereas Xbox controllers adhere to XInput. Despite their differences, they are somewhat compatible, though each interprets controller data uniquely, leading to variations in button layouts. Most games from the 2010s require XInput support only. A tool named DS4Windows can translate PlayStation inputs into XInput, which should function with Dual Shock 3 on DsHdMini.
