Currently CPUs include integrated GPUs (just those models). Motherboards feature connectors for iGPUs, which are located on the CPU. The Ryzen 8500G supports iGPU, along with HDMI and DP ports situated on the back panel. A dedicated GPU provides its own PCIe outputs behind the motherboard's rear side.

Yes, after installing the IGPU drivers it fails to recognize the display.

The driver version is Adrenalin 24.4.1 and the GPU appears as a basic display adapter in the device manager.

You seem to be mixing up concepts. It sounds like you're asking about a motherboard with built-in graphics, but most modern motherboards don't have this feature. The integrated graphics are usually inside the CPU itself. If your cable connects to the motherboard, it should use that built-in graphics. Your issue might be unclear—please describe your symptoms more clearly.

It doesn't. There are no AM5 motherboards with built-in graphics, which wouldn't make sense since only a few CPUs lack an integrated graphics unit. In 2024, the only scenarios needing on-board graphics are server environments, as no Xeon or Epyc CPUs have one, and certain applications need basic display functions for terminals or simple tasks. This is the key point. Are you suggesting that installing AMD Adrenaline drivers causes your display to freeze or blank? Or that it fails to locate a second screen? What are the exact signs of the issue?

Did you use the Display Driver Uninstaller to delete old Nvidia and AMD drivers? It could work. The next option might be reinstalling the operating system, though that may not be necessary. Check DDU first.
