Issue with DirectX execution environment
I bought the Deathwing Enhanced Edition on Steam and when I tried to play it, I got an error message. It said something about needing DirectX Runtime. I read some discussions online where people suggested going into a folder called _CommonRedist, then into DirectX and vcredit, installing everything there. But in my case, nothing was installed in DirectX and the files in vcredit already had newer versions. I saw others trying to fix it by uninstalling and reinstalling DirectX, but I’m just starting out with PC stuff. This is my first build, so I’m not very experienced. I need a simple explanation to solve this problem.
A full set of files is available for download from Microsoft, including previous versions. You might have to install everything, even the older ones.
When I attempted this, the installer indicated that a newer or matching DirectX version is already installed and no further installation is required. Additionally, a Program Compatibility Assistant displayed a message stating the app cannot run due to security or performance concerns on Windows. A newer version might be available. Consult your software provider for an updated application compatible with this Windows version. Tried the game again and received the same error message.
