I recently purchased 16GB Corsair RAM and discovered it isn't detected in the B2 slot (A2 and B2 are dual-channel). To avoid replacing the whole motherboard, I placed it in B1. Now the RAM sticks are adjacent—one in dual channel and one in single. How does this impact performance?

No, the non will not be in dual channel. You can use A1 / B1 to operate in dual channel.
