Issue with CPU speed enhancement Memory-related performance issues Overclocking challenges PC stability concerns
I have two G.skill systems with 8GB RAM (XMP 16-18-18-18-38, 3000MHz). I'm using the latest BIOS version. Performance is stable at 3000MHz with a 14-17-17-31 clock speed. Overclocking to higher frequencies isn't working well—especially above 3000MHz, and my PC won't boot at 3333+ MHz. I've tried increasing voltage up to 1.45V, adjusting timings, command rates, and even using GearDownMode, but nothing stabilizes at 3200 or 3333MHz. What options do I have?
Your RAM speed is limited to 3000MHz and won't increase further. It's not the same as the CPU.
I checked the frequency first then looked at the RAM speeds. Each RAM has its own specs—like a CPU, it's quite random how much higher you can get depending on voltage and timing. For example, my Corsair Vengeance CL16 reached up to 3133MHz and CL14.
Max limit: XMP frequency? Not great. Tested 1.35 to 1.45V for over 3000 MHz, but it didn’t work. Guess I missed the mark.
