Issue with CPU configuration remaining set to AUTO in BIOS following an update.
I'm not sure if this is the correct area, but I've just updated my Bios (note: MSI z170a gaming m5) to the latest version. In the 'OC setttings menu', CPU ratio and Ring ratio are stuck at AUTO.
Let me clarify more.
Before the update, I was stable with my own overclock profile and would adjust (CPU ratio - Ring ratio - Voltage) each time I needed it via Bios Config or other software like 'intel extreme utility'.
Now, after updating, the CPU (i5-6600k) is stuck at 0.80ghz. There are no options to change them manually except disabling 'Intel adaptive thermal monitor' from CPU features. In this situation, CPU ratio reaches a maximum of 3.5ghz but remains stuck at AUTO if I try to adjust it manually.
The same problem occurs when changing settings through software.
Additionally, checking CPU ratio from the software side shows it's working at 3.9ghz.
- (Profile 2 increases RAM to 2666mhz)
I recently tried enabling GameBoost mode, but it only raised CPU to 4.1ghz and reduced RAM speed to 2400mhz.
If this helps, I previously had the same 0.80ghz issue two years ago with the older firmware; I resolved it by enabling/disabling 'intel c-state' (I don't remember exactly, but I'm sure my CPU never reached 3.5 before).
Thank you all.
