Hello,
I’m checking if anyone has come across this issue in Battlefield 5. The problem occurs when I move around on the map—my character freezes instantly, and I can only shift left or right. To progress forward again, I have to press the W key once more, which is quite bothersome. To confirm whether my keyboard was functioning properly, I changed the forward movement key from W to E, but the same bug still appears. Since I play other games without this issue, I suspect it’s not related to my keyboard or graphics settings. Could there be a game setting or configuration causing this problem?

Does this occur in both SP and MP, or is it limited to MP? If it appears only in MP, particularly when movement rubberbands activate after unfreezing, it probably points to a high ping problem. I only experienced this in SP and never encountered it before. It hasn’t shown up as a bug in my searches—just occasional full game freezes, not just player movement. I’m also uncertain if your KB is the cause, especially if it happens when pressing three or more keys simultaneously, which some keyboards don’t support. A high-end KB might be involved, but it could also be a random glitch needing a driver reinstall or another component conflict. Are you using any RGB lighting software on other parts of your system?

Yes, it was both MP and SP, but I identified what was making my player freeze randomly. It was a program called TaskbarX that was running in the background. Since I was using Windows 11, it wasn't supported, leading to glitches that caused the freezing.

I'm facing the same problem here. I can't progress, just moving back and forth, only forward after releasing and pressing W again. How did you fix this issue? I'm using Windows 11 but don't have the "TaskbarX" program. I really appreciate your help since this bug is very bothersome!

Checked the search for 'turn on/off sticky keys windows 11' and found a connection to it.

I'm using W10 and Sticky Keys is disabled. Still, some games act oddly if I forget to lock the Windows key on my mechanical keyboard. Things like the Start menu appearing unexpectedly, losing control of my bike in a supercross game, and other unknown issues can happen. It's important to enable these features and secure the key!

Hello, I tried the solution Grunvan shared in the link above—disabling the Origin in-game overlay by renaming the igo64.dll file in Origin's installation folder resolved the issue for me. You can locate that file in a similar directory. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin\igo64.dll). Thanks Grunvan.

Note: Simply disabling the origin overlay through Origin settings didn't work, and the overlay remained active. You'll need to delete or rename the "igo64.dll" file to eliminate it.
