First of all, thank you for reviewing this.
I really need your assistance with this issue.
Initially, I noticed the problem after playing Starfield; my FPS dropped and stuttered (I usually cap it at 60 for single-player games). It only occurred occasionally before, but now it happens consistently. After some investigation and adjustments, I found that my CPU would freeze at around 85% usage and consistently stuck at about 3.09 GHz, which seems linked to the powerplan settings. Then I switched to the high-performance powerplan and reset the balanced to default.
That resolved everything—my CPU ran smoothly again (verified with cpuz) and reached up to 5.9 GHz. After that, I started playing Starfield once more, but suddenly encountered a BSOD loop involving fltmgr.sys.
After about an hour of troubleshooting, it appeared the issue was tied to the powerplan. I fixed it by booting in safe mode and changing the powerplan to powersaving.
Even when not playing games (like watching YouTube or browsing), the BSOD would occur again within an hour or two, depending on the powerplan used.
There are always these two BSOD exceptions for fltmgr.sys: one related to ntdll.dll and another labeled KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.
Also, when I opened the DMP file with WinDbg, it pointed to ntdll.dll (FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: AV_ntdll!NtQueryAttributesFile).
Please find attached the BSOD screenshot and a text copy of the WinDbg MEMORY DMP.
