Issue with black screen upon logging into Windows 10.
Hi everyone, I faced an issue with my Windows 10 laptop. After turning it on, it normally reaches the login screen. Once there, only a black screen appears with a movable cursor. I've checked the Microsoft forums for help and shared my link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...1030062141. I've tried several fixes but haven't seen any success—fast startup isn’t available, high contrast is off, the task manager button doesn’t open properly, projecting to another screen didn’t help, and resetting the laptop didn’t resolve it. I’ve also unplugged everything, tried system restore and installation media, and even entered safe mode to check display adapters one by one. If anyone has faced the same problem or found a different solution, please let me know.
I faced a comparable problem on my desktop. After logging in, I see a black screen. I managed to enter safe mode, removed the graphics driver (Nvidia 980 ti), and was able to log back in without it. Still, restarting the computer after removing the driver causes another login failure. This issue began after Windows 10 updates on March 20th. I've noted that Windows often installs a driver for my video card, which prevents successful logins even after safe mode removal. Updated April 3, 2017 by Gakio
That means once you remove the software and restart, the device doesn’t show up. But when you log back into Windows normally, it reinstalls the driver automatically—causing the same problem again. This reminds me of a past issue with my laptop: its display driver didn’t work with an external screen unless I turned it off. If it’s enabled, I have to wait for a while after closing the lid and turning it back on so the display appears on the external monitor. Try disabling the display driver in Safe Mode and then restarting; it should resolve the issue.
