This experience completely changed my perspective on purchasing large storage devices. It’s really foolish. Think about the hassle of trying different Windows updates just to get Windows 10 installed.

Clearing the CMOS after a BIOS update applies to every motherboard. Some suggest entering BIOS and setting defaults, but I perform this step just as a precaution. The exact reason behind this process isn’t clear to me, though it’s not the first similar issue discussed here. Updating BIOS is crucial—no one wants to ruin a board or corrupt the BIOS. Every Asus model includes a BIOS recovery boot disk. I once wiped a faulty BIOS using a damaged flash chip on an AM3 board. It failed completely. After replacing the disk, I recovered the BIOS and it worked within ten minutes. This has been one of my key reasons for sticking with Asus over the years.

I stayed with them until recently since they didn’t handle that frustrating BIOS chip soldering step. Now I just need to take it out and use my programmer—BIOS issue resolved and can update it to any version I prefer, even if the usual method isn’t available. By now, it seems like most people are doing this, turning fixes into a hassle. Regarding the repeated boot loop on the other board, things aren’t looking well unless changes are made.

As a Bios Programmer in this discussion, you're using an alien language that most folks here don't understand—lol!

Occasionally it takes a while—minutes or more—before the system works correctly after an EFI update. It may help to let it run a bit longer.

I understand, though it remains accurate.
