I bought BF4 for a budget and it's my first Battlefield title. I really enjoy the game, but sometimes the performance drops and frames get skipped. This can cause my weapon to fail. I've captured some gameplay here. It looks like a solid TDM game with a 27-6 rating. The recording was done with Shadowplay at 1080p, 60fps, using Ultra Settings and 4X MSAA. What's happening? How can I resolve this?

Note that the video remains at 360p and isn't fully processed yet.

Is the recording happening on the same storage device as the game? That might be the cause. Particularly if you're using an HDD, I recall trying to play BF4 (installed on one) while recording to it with ShadowPlay, which seemed quite alike.

It's typical for bf4 or most battlefield games. Picture it as filming a scene—more action means more effort. That's why I usually tweak settings for smooth 80fps gameplay. You might stare at a wall in a room and see 130 fps, but when something dramatic happens like a ship hitting the beach or an explosion, it drops. I wouldn't say going from 115 to 90 is a stutter; it's just a small dip. Using Vsync helps prevent noticeable jumps when FPS changes significantly. That fluctuation is just the system adjusting between 120 and 90 fps.

Do you know if the shadowplay function is active so you can save the final moments afterward? It seems like it only captures the last five minutes, not everything.

The stuttering occurs around the 8-minute mark of the video.
