Issue with Asus ROG strix B550-F Gaming motherboard affecting DIMM slots.
PC specifications: RTX 3060, Ryzen 5 5600X, 32GB RAM, 3600Mhz CL18 (4x8), Asus ROG STRIX B550-F gaming. Greetings, I'm facing an issue with my first and third DIMM slots on the motherboard. My system frequently crashes while playing games. This problem began this summer after I upgraded my PC with another identical 16GB RAM module and a new SSD. Initially, I didn't suspect the RAM was the cause, thinking it might be related to the CPU. Later, I considered the GPU since the CPU temperature stayed below 80°C and the crashes occurred when utilization dropped. When the PC powered on but showed no display, I suspected the GPU. However, after returning the GPU to the store for testing, they found no issues and advised checking the RAM. I verified my RAM sticks were identical Corsair Vengeance RGB RS 3600Mhz CL18, except the ones added this summer were version 3.34, while the original ones were 3.31. This suggested a compatibility problem with the two kits. I tested each stick individually—every one worked—but only when placed in slots 2 or 4. Placing them in slots 1 or 3 caused the PC to power on but display remained off. I consulted online guides that allowed testing RAM in any slot, which confirmed it was possible. Still, I doubted compatibility was the main issue since I had found the MOBO problem earlier. I also tried using a single stick in other machines and another stick in my own PC, both functioning correctly. This led me to believe the issue might be with the MOBO itself or a specific Asus feature.
Sorry, but many people would love to assist you, yet they struggle because reading about your situation is very challenging. The details you provide are hard to follow due to the lack of punctuation and paragraph breaks. If you could split the text into smaller sections and add some spacing, it would be much easier for me to help. Thank you for understanding.
I own a 5800x and a Tog Strix b550-f gaming rig too. I've been using two 16GB sticks at 3600MHz g.skill RGB Trident Neo Z Sticks for over two years, according to the manual. I'm experiencing constant blue screen issues, probably because the motherboard has failed after two years. It can't handle dual-channel anymore. I have fresh Windows, the latest BIOS, and tested each stick individually. When used in dual-channel, both sticks show problems—hardware errors in channels 2 and 4. One stick works perfectly. This is the worst motherboard I've ever had. I won't replace it. Maybe I should upgrade to a newer AMD model instead of wasting money on this AM4. This seller is really disappointing. I'm not going to tolerate this anymore.
