Issue with Asus Rog B-450-f motherboard failing to post data.
i have nearly two identical rigs, both sharing the same motherboard—an asus rog b450-f. i’m constructing a new computer and have attempted to fit a ryzen 5 5500 into the b450-f board. i know the bios must be updated for a 5000 series processor, but the issue persists. even when i install my 2700x processor, it doesn’t boot up. neither ram nor cpu functions properly, though both work on my personal machine. i’m confused as to why the motherboard isn’t responding. i’ve tried everything possible, and i only have a basic setup—just the processor and ram. could you help me understand what’s going on?
The motherboard won’t turn on at all. No boot screen appears because it’s just a CPU and RAM setup, which the 2700X doesn’t support. You’ll need a dedicated graphics card to show anything on the screen.
i have a graphics card installed. i've used the r9 290 rig but the motherboard light turns red when it powers on. everything lights up except the display, even though the card and board are working fine. i've tried hdmi connections, and it seems like the socket is damaged for the cpu. my other setup has the same board and hardware, yet it works perfectly without lights. why does this happen with a different board even though everything looks identical?

If it remains on red, that confirms a CPU problem. The CPU is expected to function, indicating the issue lies with the board. Neither of the available boards supports CPU-free BIOS flashback, ruling that out. It’s likely best to return or initiate an RMA. The 2700X is compatible with the base BIOS for both board types (B450-F and B450-F II), and no BIOS updates mention removing support for older CPUs, suggesting a possible defective motherboard.
