I encountered some difficulties setting up my ASUS K55 VJ from a USB drive. It was tricky getting it to boot from the USB, even though I knew it worked on another system using the same Windows 8.1 drive. After adjusting the BIOS, the formatting went through but then I ran into an issue when trying to select a partition for installation. The error indicated that the selected disk was in GPT format, which I wasn’t sure what that meant. Both partitions were affected, and now my laptop seems unresponsive. I tried reinstalling it, but I’m not sure if there’s a way to fix this or if I’m stuck. I found some advice in a Portuguese forum, but I’m still confused about the steps. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Press F12 or whatever the motherboard requests for the boot list. Pick UEFI (or USB name) or UEFI Generic USB. Select your choice.
