Issue with AMD Prism Wraith cooler failing to synchronize inside Asus Armoury Crate case
I’m launching this discussion to try and resolve an issue I’m facing with my AMD Prism cooler. It involves matching colors across other RGB parts in my system. From the start of November last year, I received the initial components—CPU, RAM, motherboard, power supply, M.2 drives, mouse. In February this year, I added the remaining gear needed for the upgrade: graphics card, monitor, chair, extra RAM. I kept the rest—keyboard, screens, GPU, SSDs, case, headset, etc.—intact. At that point, my setup included:
- Asus ROG Strix x570-e gaming laptop
- AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-core (AM4) processor
- AMD Wraith Prism CPU cooler (4x8GB Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX 3200)
- Asus ROG Strix AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT 8GB + 2x1TB Samsung SSDs (main OS, secondary games)
- EVGA B5 Series 850W PSU
- Bronze Asus TUF monitor (VG32VQ1B, 32")
- Two Samsung syncMaster SA300 units for secondary display
- Logitech G502 Hero gaming mouse
- Two old SSDs (PNY 250GB each) in a RAID0 array (464GB usable)
- Super-old Thermaltake full tower case
- Racing chair (Respawn 110 v1 RSP-110-WHT)
Software-wise, I used Windoze 11 64-bit and played some games. Initially, everything worked perfectly—motherboard, cooler, and GPU were all in harmony. However, I noticed I couldn’t control the ring or logo colors, which was frustrating. I gave up on fixing it for a while, thinking it was just outside my reach.
About five weeks ago, a friend suggested using the Cooler Master Prism software and connecting the cooler via USB instead of the RGB cable. This allowed me to customize the cooler’s colors. Curious, I followed through, powered down the PC, connected the USB cable, and installed the CoolerMaster app. I watched tutorials on YouTube about adjusting RGB LED speeds for visual effects.
At first, it felt great—especially the “still fins” effect that made the fans appear to spin slowly and rhythmically. It was exciting and satisfying. But after some time, the “out of syncness” became noticeable again. I tried resetting everything in the app, but nothing resolved the issue. Eventually, I went back to the original settings and reset the system. The colors and ring returned to normal, but the synchronization problem remained.
Now I’m wondering: does anyone have default settings that work perfectly across all components of the Prism cooler? Whether it’s saved in a file the Cooler Master app can read, or recorded as a screenshot, I’d love to know how to manually adjust everything so everything aligns properly again. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
If I had a different prism, I would have swapped it and moved on, ignoring the problem. That’s why I’m searching for someone with the settings file dump or numbers. The controller seems to function properly; the issue is only with asynchronous colors—those colors themselves are fine, but synchronization stopped in Armory Crate.
