Hi, your setup seems to vary based on the device you connect. Using a different Ethernet cable or adapter might affect speeds. Check your cable connections and ensure the port matches your modem model. If possible, try using a different Ethernet port or switch to see if the speed improves.
I access https://fast.com/ using NVME as my C storage. I’m unsure if it writes directly to your HDD or if it loads data into RAM first.
It seems fast relies on HDD or SSD for downloads, which can limit speed. If your documents folder isn’t moved to another drive, the SSD should handle it better. That’s what real-world results suggest. But honestly, 400MBps feels like the speed a standard HDD would achieve. That’s why I considered it. Still, I’m out of ideas and sorry.
It appears both speedtest.net and fast.com store data, yet speedtest.net seems quicker. Could be due to better efficiency or a server closer to you?
