The issue started after upgrading to AMD Steam and Steam Games, causing slow loading or freezing unless the keyboard was unplugged. It’s a brand new Windows installation with all drivers, and I’m using an Akko PC75b Plus.

Your keyboard uses Bluetooth, which might be leading the system to attempt connections through Bluetooth or even wired methods, possibly causing an unusual problem. Try using a different keyboard connected via a physical port to confirm if the issue persists. Also, ensure your BIOS is current.

Here are some alternative approaches you might consider:

1. Navigate to Settings/Typing/Advanced Keyboard Settings and enable the option to switch input methods for each app window. Note – this feature hasn’t been used before.
2. You can also press the carat icon on the taskbar and disable access to the external keyboard. Restoring functionality usually requires a few mouse clicks. This is my usual method.
3. If you possess a dongle that connects the keyboard to the computer, disconnect it and reattach it when needed. I haven’t encountered any issues with this step.
4. Finally, switch off the keyboard entirely. Windows will detect it automatically when you turn it back on.

Thanks for the advice I'll give this a try when I get home thoe I'm not sure why it would still be trying to connect through Bluetooth it has a physical switch on the bottom to switch modes and since the wipe I haven't connected it through bt All bios and drivers are up to date along with windows updates

I haven’t solved the issue yet, but I discovered a fix. Make sure the keyboard is paired first; that’s necessary for the wired mode to function properly. I’m not sure why both steps are needed, but it seems to be the case.
