It has been quite some time since I've been active on these forums, trying to figure out the main reason behind this problem.
Current system details:
Operating System: Windows 11
Processor: Ryzen 3950x
Memory: Corsair 3600mhz DDR4
Graphics: Nvidia 5070
PCI-e: Elgato 4K60
Mainboard: Aorus X570 Master (rev. 00)
External devices: Focusrite Scarlett (4th Gen), Logitech Brio, G910, G502 Hero, Elgato Streamdeck
Key software: Voicemeter Banana
Summary of the problem and steps tried:
A random disconnect sound appears at random intervals.
Event Viewer, USBLog, and HWMonitor all display zero issues or logs—nothing is recorded.
The monitor reports no power fluctuations, yet USB functions work, but when switching audio inputs (Logitech Brio or Nvidia 2080ti), the connection drops and reconnects almost instantly. This became clear during a Discord session when trying to change audio settings.
Previous troubleshooting actions:
- Performed a full system reset.
- Tested without the Ryzen chipset.
- Disabled Logitech software.
- Ran tests without the Focusrite device.
- Updated BIOS battery.
Currently, I’m completely puzzled. The sound isn’t consistent—it happens randomly, without warning or pattern, and no clear cause is evident.
I’ve checked DxDiag (link provided) but haven’t found anything relevant.
My concern is whether my power supply or motherboard might be failing, though I’m hesitant to buy new parts if it’s a software or driver issue. I’m reaching out to other tech enthusiasts for advice.

The term random disconnect noise refers to the Windows tone that sounds when connecting or disconnecting a USB device. Do you observe any changes in icons on your taskbar? Have you attempted to remove devices from your PC or switch USB ports to narrow down the issue to a specific peripheral or port? You mentioned that the USB functions and the previous GPU would disconnect and reconnect quickly, implying that your devices and GPU temporarily stopped working during these events.

Yeah, the USB sound is there, but it's just the disconnect noise. I see device manager updates during that time, but it happens too fast to notice. Someone thought it might be the iCUE Corsair fan controller, so I ran some tests on that while keeping my Focusrite unplugged after a fresh installation. I've moved all devices and ports, and the problem keeps happening. The GPU also didn't stop working—it kept functioning—but it caused Discord to repeatedly ask for my audio device after changing it, so the system marked it as "disconnected and reconnected," even though it only played the "disconnected sound." But it couldn't register with the event viewer because it happened too quickly. The same went for USB devices like the Logitech Brio when they were in a specific port from my previous setup. That’s why I still think it might be related to power or the motherboard.
